As part of the HRM School Board Strategic Planning Initiative, School Advisory Councils were established in 1999, throughout its jurisdiction. Each council consists of representatives from elected parents, elected teachers, the school principal, and appointed community members if applicable.

The Astral Drive Elementary School Advisory Council meets once a month (Except December) during the school year. Meetings are open to parents/guardians, and school staff. It is policy, however, that attendance is on an observation basis only. Any issues or concerns that an interested party would like to forward to the Council and/or have included on the agenda are especially welcome, and can be communicated to the Council via contacting:

The Principal, the Council Chair, or by leaving a message or written submission at the office to the attention of the Advisory Council.

A binder containing the Council's purpose, policies, relevant information, minutes, etc., is located in the office and is available for open reference.
